Here we go on our exciting Colombian adventure! Today will be a long day, so we gather early in the morning at Sofia airport, the whole group, we check in for the flight and while we wait to take off we will get to know the group. We have chosen to fly with Lifhanza because they offer the shortest possible flights to Colombia and we will be in Bogotá this evening. First we have a short flight to Frankfurt, where we have a short layover and board the main flight that will take us to the capital of Colombia - Bogotá. After landing, a transfer will be waiting for us to take us to our hotel. It will be getting late so today we have planned to go out for a quick bite to eat and then go home to rest everyone will be tired after the long flight.

We only have 1 day to explore Bogotá, so we grab a quick breakfast and head out to explore the exciting Colombian capital. First we start with a tour of La Candalaria - the center of Bogotá and home to the main landmarks. A local guide will immerse us in the history of the city, we will learn about its turbulent past and the great changes in recent years that have transformed the city and the country. After finishing the tour, we will sit down to have a delicious lunch of local specialties in one of the most famous restaurants with over 200 years of history. After lunch, you will have a short free time to explore La Candalaria at your own pace and browse the shops. In the afternoon we board the lift that will take us high up to Montserrat Mountain for a stunning panoramic view over Bogotá. The lift will take us to a panoramic plateau located at over 3000 meters above sea level. In addition to breathtaking views, there is also a beautiful church, a large fort, numerous souvenir and food stalls. We have some time to enjoy the area, then head back on the lift. We return to the hotel, where a transfer awaits us, which will take us to the airport from where we catch a flight to our next destination - the coffee triangle. After the short flight, a transfer awaits us again, which will take us to our hotel in Salento. We arrive late in the evening, so we have a quick bite to eat and go to bed to rest.

We wake up in the amazing picturesque and beautiful village of Salento, look outside and see what an amazing place we have found ourselves. The view from the hotel is amazing and shows the beauty of the mountain hills dotted with coffee plantations and lush greenery. We have time to enjoy this view from the terrace while having breakfast. Then we straighten up and go to drink our coffees directly from a local farm that produces it in the region, because we all know that Colombian coffee is some of the best in the world. But before we get to drinking the coffee, we'll go through the whole process, from growing the plants, to selecting and picking the finished beans, through the whole processing process until we get that liquid so beloved by many. It's time now to enjoy a cup of amazing coffee while taking a well-deserved break at the coffee farm. Once we have recharged our energy we move on to perhaps the most beautiful sights of the whole excursion, as we will explore the Cocora Valley known for its incredible beautiful and tall palm trees. These palm trees are special - they are the tallest type of palm and only found in Colombia and are considered the national tree of Colombia. Although they get extremely tall, they grow extremely slowly - a few centimetres a year and the locals take extreme care to cultivate and propagate them so that the species does not become extinct. So the tallest palms we will see and be able to enjoy are over 100 years old. To get there we will ride on local jeeps known as Willies. These will take us to the starting point from where we will begin our hike which will last about 2 hours. We return to the hotel in the afternoon and will have some free time to explore the village. It is small but it is so colorful and beautiful, all the houses are painted in different colors and convey an amazing atmosphere, you will be able to wander around the many souvenir and gift shops. At dusk we all get together and head to the end of the hamlet, where there are some stairs waiting for us - we'll get a bit tired climbing them, but our reward is an amazing panoramic view over the village and the whole valley. We'll meet the sunset from there and capture this moment in our minds for a lifetime. We will then descend to the village square where we will have dinner together and enjoy the vibrant life that goes on in the square.

Well, our adventure around the coffee triangle is over and it's time to head to Medellin, the city with a dark past and a prosperous future. So we have breakfast at the hotel and check it out and get on the shuttle that will take us to Medellin. After settling into the new hotel, we have planned some time for relaxation, and what could be better than it being at the hotel's rooftop pool with a cocktail in hand while enjoying an incredible panoramic view over the city. In the evening we will go out to a typical Colombian restaurant and then go out and sample Medellin's nightlife.

Today we will explore Medellin and take a walking tour with local guides through two of the most interesting neighborhoods. So we have breakfast and go outside to walk around. We start first with the center of Medellin, where a local guide will walk us around and tell us about the history, the tragic past and the resurrection of Medellin. We will see the main sights in the center, such as the old train station, the National Palace, Botero Square, Veracruz Church and others. After getting acquainted with the history of the city, we will have some free time to sample the street food sold by local vendors and walk the streets. Then we head to Commune 13. Once the most dangerous and deadly place in the world, it has undergone an incredible transformation and is now completely transformed and the neighborhood is a center for arts, dance and good vibes. Before starting the tour of the neighborhood, we will do a panoramic tour from above, for this we will get on the elevator and look at the neighborhood from above, which will give us a different perspective. The neighborhood is located on a hill and the houses seem to be built on top of each other with improvised materials, without sewerage or water supply. After the view from above, it's time to go inside and around the neighborhood, for which we will again be shown around by a local guide who grew up in the neighborhood. He will tell us many stories from the dark past and how the neighborhood has completely transformed in recent years. After finishing the tour, we return to the hotel for a short rest. And then we go out to practice our Spanish a little and meet the locals. One of the bars organizes a language and culture exchange event - locals come to practice their English and tourists to learn some Spanish. And after a certain hour - the music turns up and turns into a party.

Today we have breakfast and go to explore Medellín from above. For this purpose, we will explore the city using the developed lift system. Medellín is the only city in the world that has integrated a system of lifts in its public transport. Usually the lifts are used for tourism purposes, to take tourists and skiers up the mountains, but not here, where the lifts are a very important part of the city's transport network. Medellin is located in a mountainous area and half of its population lives on hills and these lifts greatly improve the lives of ordinary citizens. And so we will begin our tour of public transport with the metro, which stops very close to our hotel. With it, we will quickly and easily move to the oldest lift of the city, which passes over Santo Domingo. Like after getting on the metro, we can then directly transfer to the lift without having to buy a new ticket, so for under 1 euro we will use both the metro and the lift. As we ride the lift, we will be able to explore the neighborhood of Santo Domingo, which is a typical local neighborhood, and we will be able to see how the locals live there. When we reach the final stop, we will transfer to a second lift, the only one of the city's network of lifts that rises higher, as it is more for tourism purposes, and will take us high above the summit in Arvi Park. We will be able to enjoy beautiful panoramic views over the city as we climb, and then we will walk through the park, which is also a nature reserve. After this tour we go back to the hotel for rest. Today is also our last night in Medellin, it's also Friday, so we'll be going out for the last time to enjoy Medellin's nightlife.

Today we will take a little walk outside of Medellin - we will go on a tour to the colorful and beautiful city of Guatape. This is a full day excursion for those who want to join in, starting early in the morning. We have about 2 hours to reach the town, the first stop being the biggest sights - the huge rock that towers over the whole plain. To get to it, we will have to climb a lot of stairs, but in the end it will be worth it, because you will have an amazing panoramic view of the town, the many lakes and the islands in them. After getting back down, we get on the bus for a short time to get to the town of Guatape itself. Here we will first have a tour with a local guide who will tell us more about the history of the town. This is followed by lunch with typical local food, which is included in the price of the excursion. After we have eaten, we will get on a boat and take a tour with it on the lakes until our food subsides. Finally, we will have free time to explore the town on our own, to walk through the colorful shops and buy souvenirs. Next is a trip back to Medellin and time to rest.

Today is dedicated to the dark past of Medellin or the era of Pablo Escobar and the transformation that the city is going through. So we have breakfast and head out, starting with the transformation first. For this purpose, we will go far from the tourist destinations and visit an ordinary residential district where locals live and we will be able to immerse ourselves in their way of life. We will see what problems they go through and hear powerful and impactful stories. The tour is led by a local social leader who is helping to build and revitalize the neighborhood, he will tell us about the things that the locals face and the achievements they manage to make, he will tell us about the education and health system, and we will also enjoy the beautiful art on the streets of the neighborhood. After hearing the impactful stories and charging ourselves with positive energy, we head to the second tour of the day, which is much darker. During something we will learn about the painful and bloody history behind the drug lord Pablo Escobar. We'll take a look at La Catedral, the private prison that Escobar built for himself and subsequently escaped. We will also visit the soccer field he built and his grave site in Itagui. We will also learn about how Escobar tried to propitiate himself with philanthropic efforts, which is also the reason why he was liked by many people while he was alive. After finishing the second tour, we return to the hotel for rest. After gathering strength we go out in the evening for a bit of nightlife.

Today I am heading to our final destination - Cartagena. So after breakfast we leave the hotel and get on the organized transfer that will take us to the airport. There we take a short flight and in about 1 hour we are in Cartagena on the Caribbean coast. When we land, another transfer is waiting for us, which will take us to the hotel. After settling in, we have a short time to rest. But we don't waste any time because then we head directly to the sea and get on a boat to meet the sunset in the sea while looking at the beautiful city of Cartagena and the contrast between the old part with colonial architecture and the new and modern part with tall and modern buildings. All this in great company, good music and cold drinks. We continue with the same good mood after the boat and go out to try the night life of Cartagena.

Today we have planned a slightly more leisurely day. After breakfast you have free time to walk around Cartagena, go to the beach or just sleep more and laze around the hotel pool. In the afternoon we will take a tour with a local guide of the old city and the neighborhood of Gethsemani, where we are also staying. We will learn about the history of the city, how it has developed over time and how Gethsemani has transformed from the poorest part of the city to the art district and gathering place for artists. In the evening we will go out on a party bus that will take us around the city while listening to good music, dancing and having fun, then we will go do some salsa dancing and have fun around the city.

We have breakfast and then head to our favorite part of any excursion - a catamaran ride. We rent a catamaran and set sail for an unforgettable experience at sea. A lot of music, dancing, partying and good mood await us. We will head to the Rosario Islands which are a group of over 40 islands, stop at some beautiful beaches, dive into the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean and make memories to last a lifetime. We come home in the afternoon, go to the hotel to recover and rest after the hard day, and in the evening we go out for a nice dinner in the old town and a walk through the streets, which are full of life, dancing and music.

Today the sea is calling us again, so we have breakfast, put on our bathing suits and head to the port to board the boat again. Because the best plans around Cartagena are on the islands around it, that's why we set sail on a sea adventure. We will visit some beautiful beaches, bask in the hot sun and have fun. This is our last full day in Colombia of our adventure, so we're going to make the most of it. After returning home in the afternoon, we will rest briefly, then get dressed and go out for dinner and one last unforgettable evening in Cartagena.

Well, all good things come to an end, and here comes the end of our unforgettable adventure around Colombia. We have breakfast and leave the hotel. Our flight is in the afternoon, so we have free time, if anyone forgot to buy magnets or a gift. After that we return to the hotel, collect our luggage and board the transfer that will take us to the airport. From there we have a flight to Bogotá where we have a short layover before boarding our long flight to Frankfurt.

We land in Frankfurt in the afternoon local time. We get off the plane to walk around the airport a bit before boarding our last flight that will take us back to Sofia, where we will arrive late in the evening. We say goodbye to the group and go home with many amazing memories and great new friends.
