When it comes to Japan we are used to talking about samurai, geishas, cherry blossoms, hypermodern futuristic neighbourhoods or traditional pagodas with wooden roofs. A country where contact with nature and the harmony it brings to life is very important to the Japanese, and this is what elevates them so high as a nation of higher self-consciousness. Everything is there in our program to feel the spirit of the East, to touch the beautiful nature and to see the technological Japanese power up close. We'll see Tokyo's "Diagonal Walkway" through which 3 million people a day pass, stroll along Japan's "Fifth Avenue", climb the world's tallest TV tower to experience the city from 450 meters high. We will see shrines, the largest gilded wooden statue of the Goddess of Mercy, cross beautiful national parks with lakes, waterfalls and hot springs, climb Mt. Fuji and take the bullet train to the old capital Kyoto. That's 11 centuries of Japanese history! And the tea ceremony in the Geisha quarter is truly an experience. Then, that golden mean between the wooden houses of Japan's past and the metal and glass skyscrapers of Japan's future in Osaka's Shinsekai district. We'll show it to you, along with the strange culinary and coffee culture of the Japanese. To know where the famous Japanese secret of happiness lies !

OSAKA

GASTRONOMY AND COLOUR!

If Kyoto is the city of court nobles and Tokyo is the city of samurai, Osaka is the city of the merchant class! This spirited city, the third largest in Japan, is where people are a little more daring and socializing is peppered with playful banter. Osaka is known for its friendly and outgoing locals who are quick to converse with strangers. This confident and stylish city is a modern and vibrant hub with amazing restaurants and nightlife, a testament to the country's unwavering spirit of innovation and creativity. Osaka's centuries-old history and rich cultural heritage are preserved, bringing a unique traditional charm despite progress and modernization. One of the most significant symbols is Osaka Castle, a majestic fortress that has stood the test of time. The castle's architecture is a beautiful blend of traditional Japanese and Western styles, making it remarkable! Along with its rich history, the city offers a variety of experiences, one of these highlights being the cuisine!  Osaka is known for its street food and casual dining culture. Specialties such as okonomiyaki (spicy pancakes), takoyaki (octopus balls), and kushikatsu (fried skewers) abound in flavor and aroma, further cementing the claim that Osaka is the culinary capital of Japan, surpassing even Tokyo and Kyoto in this regard!

KYOTO

A FASCINATING JOURNEY TO THE PAST!

Kyoto is a pathway to Japan's past, filled with landmarks: atmospheric temples, elevated gardens, traditional tea houses, and geishas. This city served as the capital for over a millennium and carries the reputation of being the most beautiful city in the country, as well as the center of culture! Kyoto offers much more than meets the eye. The hidden beauty revealed in its temples and parks connects modern life in the city with its deep historical past. The Shimogamo Shrine, dating back to the 6th century, appears frozen in time, and its tranquility and spiritual strength are still palpable. The thousands of bells at Sanjusangendo and traditional geisha performances are part of the city's cultural wealth. Japanese culture has evolved over the centuries, preserving wooden architecture, the art of Japanese gardens, and landscape gardening that has influenced the world. Everywhere in the hilly landscape, hundreds of Buddhist and Shinto shrines rise, works of art with mesmerizing beauty and graceful proportions. Paper lanterns, "chochin," are a magical sight often seen in large rows in front of shrines. They are made of long spirals of split bamboo, covered with paper, and adorned with symbols and calligraphy, with this tradition dating back at least a thousand years! In this city, many aspects of Japan's refined taste have originated in the Kyoto National Museum, the Museum of Traditional Crafts, the Golden Pavilion "Kinkaku-ji," and the temple complex of Daitoku-ji. All of them express the principles of Zen regarding the beauty of nature, reaching a logical conclusion that predisposes meditation with skillful arrangement and composition. Nowhere else have art and nature been introduced in a more delicate and captivating balance!

TOKYO

MODERN BOLDNESS AND TRADITION

Japan's unique capital is where tradition intertwines, order balances chaos, and it's a gathering point of spirituality and world-leading technology. Thanks to this special context, Tokyo creates new values for everyone! This bustling metropolis is officially the largest urban agglomeration in the world, with a population of over 38 million.

Tokyo possesses immense charm and a reputation for modern boldness while maintaining order! This city, with its quirks, interesting offerings, and preserved traditions in fast-paced daily life, presents elements that cannot be found anywhere else!!! The official symbol of the city consists of three arches forming the letter "T" in the shape of a leaf of the ginkgo biloba tree. It symbolizes Tokyo's growth, prosperity, and tranquillity. The Sakura phenomenon, the tradition of admiring the cherry blossoms, draws thousands of Japanese to the parks each year where they enjoy the beauty of the cherry blossoms! In Tokyo, you can explore a myriad of interesting sights gathered from different parts of the world, such as the replica of the Eiffel Tower - the Tokyo Tower, the Odaiba area, which is the largest artificial island in Tokyo Bay, and the Ferris wheel, offering beautiful views and a scaled-down version of the Statue of Liberty.

In contrast to the imposing skyscrapers scattered throughout the city, there are also a number of parks that leave quite different impressions. Tokyo is definitely where the rest of the world goes to imagine a future that, from the first moment of contact with this culture, turns out to be real! Most impressive of all, the perspectives offered by this civilization are not only related to progress and technological achievements but are a way of communication between people and their perception of the environment and the world!
