After breakfast at the hotel, the day offers the opportunity for independent walks, rest or participation in an additional excursion that will reveal three of the emblematic faces of Rio. First, you will immerse yourself in the green splendor of the Botanical Garden, founded in 1808, with Lake Victoria Amazonica, an impressive collection of orchids and bromeliads, a Japanese garden, fountains and historical buildings that will take you back to the era of the Portuguese monarchy. Then the visit continues with the Maracana Stadium, a true temple of football, where you will see original exhibits, the dressing rooms, the tunnel to the pitch and you will touch the history of Brazilian football glory through artifacts related to Pele, Zico and other legends. The last stop of the tour will take you to the world of the Brazilian Carnival. You will visit the workshop where the costumes and platforms for the grand parade are created, learn interesting facts from the history of samba, have the opportunity to wear authentic carnival costumes, take part in a short samba lesson and refresh yourself with a glass of traditional caipirinha.
In the evening, if you wish, you can immerse yourself in the magic of the evening show “Aquele Abraço” – a real feast for the senses, combining music, dance, colors and flavors. The program is inspired by the richness of Brazilian culture and will be accompanied by an exquisite dinner prepared by chef Danilo Parra, who presents dishes with typical ingredients from different regions of the country.
